The Occupational Health and Safety Program aims to provide the necessary knowledge and skills to ensure a safe environment in the workplace.
Educational Content
Courses offered within the program:
Departmental Program Outcomes: The knowledge, skills and competencies that students gain after graduation. These outcomes must be determined in line with the department's educational objectives and compatible with industry needs.
- Language/Type of Instruction: The program's language of instruction and type of instruction (e.g., formal education, distance education, evening education). Also, whether the program is for international students or offers bilingual education.
- Infrastructure Facilities: Technical and physical facilities offered by the department to students. Details about the infrastructure that supports education and research activities, such as laboratories, workshops, machinery and equipment.

Double Major / Minor Programs
Double Major Program: Allows students to earn a bachelor's degree in a field they are interested in, in addition to their primary field. In this program, students can complete courses in two different fields and earn a diploma in both fields.
Minor Program: Allows students to take a certain number of courses in a field they are interested in, outside of their major. Students who complete the minor program are given an official certificate in that field; however, this does not mean a second undergraduate degree.

Exchange Programs
It offers students the opportunity to study at another university, either domestically or abroad, for a certain period of time. Thanks to these programs, students have the opportunity to learn about different cultures, develop their foreign language skills and gain international academic experience. The most common exchange programs include programs such as Erasmus+, Mevlana and Farabi.

The current situation
- Training Curriculum: Training is provided on basic theories, legislation, risk analysis, emergency management and safety practices related to occupational health and safety.
- Practical Applications: Students gain real-world experience through fieldwork and internships, gaining practical knowledge of safety equipment and methods.
- Use of Technology: Technological tools such as security software, monitoring systems and data analysis have an important place in education.

- Increasing Demand: The demand for occupational health and safety specialists is increasing in order to prevent work accidents and raise health standards.
- Innovative Approaches: More innovative and effective methods in risk management are developing with the integration of technologies such as data analysis and artificial intelligence.
- Continuous Education: Due to changes and new regulations in the field of occupational health and safety, it is important for experts to receive continuous education.
In this context, the Department of Property Protection and Security can further strengthen its occupational health and safety programs in the future by adapting to current developments. Innovations in education and practices will enable graduates to be more competitive in the labor market.
Occupations Under the Field: The field of occupational health and safety includes a number of occupations and specialties that are concerned with protecting the health and safety of employees. Some of these occupations include:
- Occupational Health and Safety Specialist: Conducts risk analysis and develops measures to ensure the safety of work environments.
- Occupational Safety Specialist: Identifies hazards in workplaces and develops strategies to minimize these hazards.
- Occupational Health and Safety Trainer: Provides training to employees on occupational health and safety issues.
- Environmental Engineer: Concerned with ensuring that work environments are environmentally friendly and managing environmental risks.
- Emergency Management Specialist: Develops emergency plans and conducts drills in workplaces.
- Ergonomist: Analyzes the physical environment and equipment to make working conditions healthier and more productive.
- Occupational Physician: Monitors the health status of employees and provides health services at the workplace.
- Occupational Health and Safety Manager: Responsible for the development and implementation of occupational health and safety policies.
